Hengelo, 24 June 2025 - From today, Scharenborg Groep will continue under the new name Stepp. Scharenborg Group is the largest medical knowledge centre in the field of foot care in the Netherlands. With the introduction of a new name and visual identity, Stepp makes visible that it is a group in which all different foot care disciplines come together.
Stepp is divided into five divisions: podiatry, orthopaedic shoes, pedicure, stores and manufacturing, under which a total of 14 independent brands operate. Since 2020, the Scharenborg Group has grown rapidly. In recent years, Hallux, Penders Voetzorg, OIM Voetzorg and Innofeet became part of the group. These expansions reinforced the need for a group name that makes clear what we do and what connects us: working together for total foot care.
With a multidisciplinary team of podiatrists, orthopaedic shoe technicians, IT specialists and other healthcare professionals, Stepp works on data-driven solutions that make a difference in prevention and rehabilitation. The internationally evocative group name also contributes to the ambition to grow internationally with our innovative orthopaedic devices.
Johannes Schneider Littfeld, CEO of Stepp until 1 April 2026, explains: "This new name marks a logical next step in our development. Scharenborg has grown into a broad, multidisciplinary group with a clear mission: to enable everyone to walk with confidence. We strengthen cohesion without our brands losing their individuality. For our manufacturing division, the English name also offers more opportunities to make an international impact with our innovative products."
