Orthopedic shoes are shoes that are custom-made. There are several options in this, from a very small adjustment, to a fully custom-made shoe. Some people are helped by a small orthopaedic adaptation to a ready-to-wear shoe, while others need custom-made orthopaedic shoes. We make (semi-)orthopaedic shoes, adjustments to ready-to-wear shoes, temporary shoes and bandage shoes for our patients.
Our orthopedic footwear division operates at more than 200 treatment locations. In many cases, we work closely with medical specialists, such as orthopaedists, rehabilitation doctors and vascular surgeons. We take our responsible role in this extremely seriously, because we often deal with vulnerable feet that need to be protected. What is important here is that the probability of wearing the shoes is as high as possible. The best shoe is not necessarily the most technically advanced one, but the one that the patient actually wears. Only by finding a good compromise between function and aesthetics together with the patient will we ensure that the patient actually uses the shoe.
